I’m finally finished with the Bench!
It took some patching of the screw holes, allowing them to dry and then I was able to finally paint it.
My sweetie and I finished the construction in just a few hours, but that didn’t include the trip to Lowes for the lumber, U joints and straps. I had everything else on hand like the screws, wood filler, paint, old bed posts and headboard. The total on this project cost us right at $60. Not bad is it?
I am so pleased with how it turned out! I was inspired from a photo that I found on Pinterest. This headboard had sat in the garage for months, with me not quite sure on how I was going to use it. But for $10, it was too good steal, oops, did I say that out loud? I mean deal to pass by.
The back is so pretty! For now, I have it sitting on our deck with dreams of fluffing it up with all sorts of pretty pastel floral pillows and a throw. Spring is on my mind.
I’m so glad I hold onto things….the old bed posts leftover from an old project sure did come in handy for the legs and arms. I used a narrow piece of smooth finished lumber for the resting arm and rounded it with a jig saw. One thing, I am not: a wood craftsman…I’m pretty basic. Measure, cut, sand, attach, patch and paint…that’s me!
Just imagine what it would be like if I had all of the sweet tools a craftsman has?! I do dream though.
All in all, I am so very pleased with this sweet bench! It’s pretty big and can seat 4 easily with plenty of seat depth. I made the seat depth 18 inches making sure to have room for some pretty pillows.
So there you have it. I have another headboard in mind with possibly making another one of these. But my issue is I’m running out of space!
I need to have a garage sale soon!
I hope you are having a blessed Monday! I have to say I am.
